Postponement Notice

Updated: March 19, 2020

Due to the escalating Coronavirus pandemic we unfortunately have to postpone the 2020 European UEA Conference at LSE, which was due to take place on April, 24-25 2020. The increasing travel restrictions and LSE's decision to suspend all public events for the remainder of this academic year make it impossible to hold a successful conference.

While it is logistically not possible to hold the European Meeting later this year, we encourage all of you to come to the 2020 North American conference of the UEA that will be held on October 16-17 at the University of California, Berkeley. The more than 200 papers accepted for the UEA conference in London are also accepted to the Berkeley conference, which will become our informal 2020 "urban economics world congress". The Berkeley conference will naturally also accept new submissions. The next European Meeting of the UEA will very likely take place at LSE in April 2021 with details to be confirmed as soon as possible.

We will refund your registration fees for the 2020 UEA Conference in London in full. Please do NOT request a refund ("chargeback") for the fees through PayPal as this will incur heavy costs for both you and the UEA. Conference Maker has agreed to handle the refund process for us and you will receive a payment from them over the next 2-3 weeks. As we are not the only conference that they are refunding conference fees for, please bear with them if this takes a bit of time.

If you made a booking at the Club Quarters Hotel, Lincoln's Inn Fields, using the link on our conference webpage and the special rate for UEA participants, you can now request its cancellation by writing to Bianca Erdmann at: berdmann@clubquarters.com. Please provide Ms Edrmann with your booking confirmation number and mention that you booked at the special rate for the 10th European Meeting of the Urban Economics Association. She will be able to process a full refund, aside from exchange-rate fluctuations and currency-conversion fees, if applicable to your credit card.
